Biography

Pruda was born on March 26, 1885 at Straight Fork in Scott County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Jesse Lawson Byrd and Elizabeth Ann ( Marcum ) Byrd . She married William S. Sexton on July 25, 1908 in Scott County. Pruda was a housewife, she passed away from arteriosclerosis and heart disease on May 17, 1963 at the home of her daughter in the Cooper Town community of Scott County.

Obituary

Pruda Sexton, 78, passed away Friday, May 17, 1963, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. H. Thompson in the Cooper town community. She was a lifelong resident of Scott County and a member of the (rest is missing); Survivors: 2 daughters, Mrs. O. H. Thompson of Oneida, Mrs. Eldred Lipscomb of Springfield, Oregon; 1 son, Caffere Sexton of Oneida; 2 brothers, J. M. Byrd of Red Key, Indiana, John Byrd of Knoxville, Tenn.; 1 sister, Mrs. Viola Collins of Oneida; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 1963, from the Fairview Baptist Church with Rev. James Marcum officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery. West in charge.
