Biography

Charlotte was born on 03/10/1860 in Plattsburgh Clinton County New York, USA to Gilbert H Calkins (1836 - 1927) and Emeroy Betsey Tyler Calkins (1838 - 1893). Lottie was the oldest of four children:

  1. Charlotte S Calkins Gates (1860 - 1917)
  2. Minnie B Calkins Dyke (1865 - 1949)
  3. Fayette Burdick Calkins (1875 - 1957)
  4. Mattie J. Calkins (1879 - 1889)

Lottie married Harvey G Gates (1852 - 1927) on 28 Feb. 1883 [1]. They had six children:

  1. Anna Gates Cleveland (1882 - 1922)
  2. George Henry Gates (1884 - 1964)
  3. Ezra Hoyt Gates (1885 - 1972)
  4. Robert James Gates (1887 - 1897)
