In the 1920 census Dorathy (age 27), House Keeper, was the wife of Octavus Gates in Mountville, Troup, Georgia.^[2]

In the 1930 census Darthula (age 34), Laborer, was the wife of Octavious Gates in Whitfield and Mountville, Mountville, Troup, Georgia, United States.^[3]

Dorthulia died on 24 Dec 1936 in Mountville aged ~40.^[4] She is buried in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, LaGrange, Georgia.^[5]
