Butler Eagle, March 9, 1998
Glenda L. Burkett, 94, of Boydstown, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at her home.
Born Feb. 22, 1904 in Troutman, Concord Township, she was the daughter of John Burton and Mary Frances (McGinnis) Campbell.
Mrs. Burkett had been a gardener at Bortmas Greenhouses for more than 12 years. She was a member and deacon at the Concord United Presbyterian church. She also belonged to the Mary K. Club and Missionary Society of the church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Dean (Eileen) Jewart and Mrs. Lester (Mary Alice) Moore, both of Chicora; a son John Burkett, of Boydstown; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grand children; five great-great grand children and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her Husband, Ralph William Burkett, whom she married May 16, 1934, died Nov. 20, 1959. She also was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, Hooker, Pa.
