Biography

George, known as Buddy^[1] was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, on 30 May 1913.^[2] His parents were George R. Campbell and Mattie (Coburn) Campbell.^[3] He was married to Ruth (or Mary) Bray on 6 April 1931.^[4] The couple had daughters Doris, Shirley, and Martha.^[5] George died in Greensboro on 28 September 1941.^[2] He is buried in Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro.^[1]
