Biography

JOHN B CAMPBELL 1849-1913

John B Campbell was born on the 24th of June 1849 in Ohio, the son of George Campbell and his wife, Mary SUTER, both of Ohio.

On the 4th of January 1888 John B. Campbell married Mrs. Sarah Catharine BRANN Timberman 1844-1922 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. Justice of the Peace, Vincent Schwab performed the ceremony. There were no children from this union, however, John Campbell now had an instant family with his previously divorced new wife, Sarah "Sadie" BRANN Timberman Campbell.

Children of Divorced, Sarah BRANN Timberman by her first husband:

• 1 - Jessie Timberman 1870–1937 age 67
• 2 - Harry Timberman 1872–1906 age 34
• 3 - ELLA MAE TIMBERMAN 1879–1962 age 83

John helped Sadie Campbell raise her children, Jessie, Harry, and Ella Mae and enjoyed a life in Cincinnati. Mr. Campbell's occupation was a house painter.

Sadly, at 6:00 A.M. on the 13th of November 1913, John B. Campbell passed away at his residence at 513 Hopkins Street in Cincinnati at the age of 64 years, 4 months, and 19 days. There seems to be an age discrepancy in the correct year of birth. His death certificate says he was born on the 24th of June 1849. This year is correct according to his age given at death. But further searching is needed for his Birth Certificate to be sure. Until then, I will use the date on the Death Certificate Document. The cause of John's death was a Cerebral Thrombosis. His burial was on the 15th of November at Spring Hill Cemetery in Section 112, Lot 46, Stone D in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. An interesting note is the funeral charges for 1913 which was only thirty dollars for the grave and another five dollars for the tent. Quite different here in 2022!
