• Last Will of Francis Cardwell

In the name of God[,] I, Francis Cardwell of the County of Nottoway do hereby make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, to wit, Item 1st. Having given unto my son John W. Cardwell and my two daughters Frankey P. Palmore and Theodocia Cardwell their portions of my Estate, I give them no legacies in this will. Item 2. I give and bequeath unto my son Richard L Cardwell the lot of land in Manchester formerly known by the name of Brooks' lot. Item 3. I give and bequeath unto my two sons Henry C. H. Cardwell and James W. Cardwell all the residue of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided between them, to belong to them and their heirs forever. Item 4. I hereby appoint my two sons Henry C. H. Cardwell and James W. Cardwell my Executors and request that no security will be demanded of them for their Executorships.
