Emanuel Morton Carpenter was born February 22, 1805, in Bostic, Rutherford county, North Carolina, a son of Joseph Carpenter and Elizabeth Johnson. On July 13, 1844, Emanual married Jane Dewberry, born February 27, 1827, in Rutherford county, a daughter of William Felix Dewberry and Elizabeth Cole. [1]
Emanuel died March 15, 1889, at the age of 84 years and is buried in the churchyard of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, in Forest City, Rutherford County, North Carolina. [2]
