Nellie Carpenter was born on November 5, 1910 in Hot Spring County, Arkansas, United States, daughter of William Jesse Carpenter (1877–1947) and Callie Jane Cooper (1884–1926), her father, William, was 33, and her mother, Callie, was 26. In the 1920 census Nellie (age 10) was the daughter of William J Carpenter in Valley, Hot Spring, Arkansas.^[1] She married Olon Deaton in about 1942 in Los Angeles, California. They had at least two children during their marriage. In the 1950 census Nellie (age 39) was the wife of Olan Deaton in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, United States.^[2] Nellie was registered to vote in 1960 in Los Angeles, California, United States.^[3] Nellie was in a directory in 1969 in Long Beach, California, United States.^[4] She died on March 9, 1971, in Long Beach, California, at the age of 60,^[5] and was buried there.^[6]
