The 1800 U.S. Census recorded a Luke Carpenter in Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York. His household consisted of seven free white persons: one male and one female age 45 and above, one female age 10 to 15, and two males and two females under age 10.[1]
In 1810 the U.S. Census recorded Luke Carpenter at Hoosick, Rensselaer County, New York, again as head of a household of seven free white persons, now including one male and one female age 45 and above, two males and one female age 16 to 25, and one male age 10 to 15.[2]
