Obituary

Susual L. McPherson, 73, wife of W. Keller McPherson, died at the Washington County Hospital on Monday morning after an illness of 6 months. Born in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Wilson and Elizabeth Sleasman Carroll. She was a charter member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Smithsburg. She had lived most of her life in the Smithsburg area and had just celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on May 10.

Surviving besides her husband are sons: Carroll W., of Orlando, FL, Hollace, Maitland, FL, Staff Sergeant Richard W., Dover Air Force Base, Dover, Del.; daughters< Mrs. Elizabeth Rudy and Mrs. Marea Dick, both of Smithsburg, brother George W, Carroll, Avon Park, FL; sisters, Mrs. Naomi Bowen, Warsaw, VA, Mrs. Esther Boggencamp, Berrien Springs, Mich., 22 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at the Minnich Funeral Home, Smithsburg, Thursday, at 2 pm., the Rev. Harvey Sauder and the Rev. John Cameron officiating. Burial will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 pm.
