Death of Mrs. Easter brook After an illness of about a month, Mrs Elizabeth Eliza Easterbrook, died at her residence, High Street, Penrith, on Saturday afternoon, at the age of 81 years. By her death the district loses one of its most estimable citizens -one who by her sterling worth re- presented the best of an older genera- tion that reputedly possessed many ex- cellent characterisics,

Her influence and help were a wonderful blessing and uplift to home life, and make her loss irreparable. She was beloved by the many who knew her, and to them her death will be a great sorrow.

The late Mrs Easterbrook was born at Camden, and was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John Carroll. She was married to the late Mr John Davis Easterbrook, after which they took up residence at Mulgoa, where he was in business. Thirty years ago Mr and Mrs Easterbrook came to Penrith and made their home in a house in High Street, where they resided for the re- mainder of their lives. There Mr Easterbrook carried on a bakery busi- ness, which, after his death, 23 years ago, was continued by his wife till she retired some twelve years ago. Mrs Easterbrook was a very active lady, and continued her energies almost to the last..

Deceased is survived by eight daugh- ters and three sons, viz.:—Mrs Earp (Randwick), Mrs Saleeby (Leich hardt), Mrs Elliott (Penrith), Mrs. O. Parker (Penrith), Mrs. H. Plummer (Stanmore), Mrs O. Dent (Ashfield), Mrs. J. Larter (Burwood), Miss Ada Easterbrook (Penrith), Mr Abraham Thomas Easterbrook (Ashfield), Mr Malcolm Easterbrook (Merrylands), and Mr Allen Easterbrook (Penrith),

There are 40 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Deceased also leaves two brothers and a sister, viz., Mr M. Carroll (York Estate, Penrith), Mr P. Carroll (Cootamundra), and Mrs Eisenhuth (Mulgoa).

The funeral, which was largely at- tended, took place on Monday. Services were conducted by the Rector. Rev. H. N. Powys, in the home, in St. Stephen's Church, and at the graveside in St. Stephen's cemetery. Deceased was laid to rest alongside her late husband. At the church service her favorite hymn, "Nearer, my God. to Thee," was rendered. Many beautiful wreaths were received.
