112th Volunteers/112th Regiment Volunteers/112th of the Line

In October of 1861 the War Department granted authority for Charles Augeroth to recruit a battalion of Heavy Artillery and was extended to become a Regiment. It was designated 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery, 112th of the Line. 112th as it was the 112th regimental sized unit to be organized in Pennsylvania during the Civil War. It never officially received the designation of 112th Regiment and has many different naming conventions. So any Profile that needs to be added to the 112th due to a misconstrued record should actually be listed under the category for the 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery as there never really was a separate 112th Regiment.

  • Do not add Profiles to this Category. Use the Official Unit Designation:
    • [[Category: 2nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery, United States Civil War]]
