The 2nd Regiment (Gen. Spencer's). This regiment was raised on the first call for troops by the Connecticut Colonial Legislature in April-May 1775. The troops were recruited mainly in Middlesex County and the eastern part of Connecticut Colony. The regiment served in the siege of Boston and was adopted as part of the Continental Army in July of 1775.
