This category is created for the "Norse Kings of Dublin" from 853-1170.

The Norse referred to the kingdom as Dyflin, which is derived from Irish Dubh Linn, meaning 'black pool'. Its territory corresponded to most of present-day County Dublin. (When the Vikings began to stay in Ireland over the winter, they began to build fortified ports "longphorts", some historians think this might be possible for both Dublin and Limerick.)

The Norse Kingdom of Dublin was the earliest and longest-lasting Norse kingdom in Ireland. It is estimated to been established abt. 853 and disestablished abt. 1170. However, Dublin seems to been abandoned by the Norse between 902 to 917. Norse rulers of Dublin were often co-kings, and occasionally also Kings of Jórvík in what is now Yorkshire.
