Biography

Sarah Causer was baptised on 4 June 1832 in Coventry, Warwickshire, England. [1]She was the daughter of Benjamin Causer and Elizabeth Unknown.

In 1851, Elizabeth Causer (56) and her husband, Benjamin (52, a coal dealer, born Staffordshire) had five children at home in Spon End, Coventry: William Causer (26, a carpenter), Robert Causer (24, a watch maker), Sarah Causer (19 a silk winder), Henry Causer (17 a watch finisher) and Benjamin Causer (14, a coal dealer). [2][3]

In 1861, Elizabeth Causer (67, household duties) and her husband, Benjamin (65, baker and flour dealer, born Colton, Staffordshire) were living at 89-90 Spon End, Coventry, England. Their children, Sarah (28, a silk winder), Henry (26, a finisher of watches) and John (10, a scholar born Colton, Staffordshire) were living with them. [4][5]

Sarah Causer (32, the daughter of Benjamin Causer) was married to Joel Wale (36, the son of Thomas Wale) in August 1866 at Saint Michael, Coventry, Warwickshire, England. [6]

In 1871, Joel and Sarah Wale were living with her mother, Mary Elizabeth Causer (75, a baker) at 89 and 90 Spon End, Coventry. Mary's unmarried son, Henry Causer (36, a watch finisher) was also living with them. [7]
