Biography

Charles was born on 9 July 1884 in the Cape Colony; he was the son of Ralph Cawood and Harriet Martha (Freemantle) Cawood.

He was 31 years old when he married 18-year-old Hester Helena Vertue in Campbell, Herbert, Cape Province on 17 January 1916.^[1]

Charles was a carpenter resident at 6 Thompson Street, Kimberley, when he passed away in the Kimberley Hospital on 21 June 1949.^[2][3]
