Josefine (Josie) Gotsens Cela y Falero (daughter of Juan Cela y Aleandro and Juana Falero y Velez) was born August 10, 1909, Barrio de San Francisco de San Juan, Puerto Rico; died July 1987 in Florida. In 1928 Josie Cela married Jose (Joseph) Gotsens, born June 21, 1905 in Havana, Cuba.
On April 27, 1920 Josefine Cela came to New York City from Puerto Rico with her mother and extended family. In the 1930 Census for New York City, "Josephine Cela Gotsens" age 19, was living with her mother "Jennie Cela", "Joe Gotsens" age 24, and their 1 year 11 month old daughter "Dolores" Gotsens; her sister "Millie Cela" age 18 and brother Antonio Cela age 21; as well as her half-sister Angelina Dias, age 31, and her daughters "Lillian Dias", age 11, and "Gloria Dias", age 10.
