He is listed on the scrip application for his father's widow (Madeline Beaugrand) that was filed by his sister Catherine Beaugrand.[1] As heir of Madeline Beaugrand, Jean Baptiste received scrip for $16.00.[2]
Jean Baptiste married Isabelle Parisien (1840-1868) on March 10, 1856 and had 5 children.
Jean Baptiste married Elise Laverdure in 1870 (1849-Unknown) and had a child. (Sara - baptized at Sacred Heart in Lebret.[4]
Jean Baptiste married Madeleine Vallee (1836-1899) and had 3 children.
Based on census records, it appears that he took a fourth wife after Madeleine's death - Marguerite.
Jean Baptiste was a buffalo hunter and the family lived across the plains
when not at Turtle Mountain; Devils Lake, St. Francois Xavier, Lebret, Fort Qu’Appelle, Wood Mountain, and Cypress Hills. He is on the Turtle Mountain Indian census rolls from 1884 through 1910.
He passed away in 1910 in Turtle Mountain, North Dakota, USA.
