Biography
Obituary
- At Ashaway, R. I., Mrs. Charlotte C. Stillman, born March 7th, 1795, died May 4th, 1877. Her life was very largely devoted to the interests of her family, to whom she is of blessed memory; while the church has lost another of its aged and worthy members.
The following notice relating to her death appeared in the Narragansett Weekly: "The funeral services connected with the burial of Mrs. Charlotte C. Stillman, widow of William Stillman, were attended Monday afternoon, May 7th, at the residence of her son-in-law, Geo. W. Taylor, Rev. A. E. Main officiating. Mrs. Stillman was for a long time, with her husband, resident in Westerly, although they lived here the last few years of their lives. She was a daughter of the late Adam B. Champlin. Her sickness was long and painful, but borne with patience and resignation, and she often prayed for death to bring her the rest she has now found. She rests in peace, at the good old age of 82 years, and leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to bear her many virtues in cheerful remembrance.
