Biography

Warren Chew is a part of US Black heritage.

Warren was born in 1907 in Philadelphia. He was the son of John and Ella Chew.

Warren was a graduate of Hampton Institute and a postal carrier for over 31 years. All the children on his route affectionately knew him as the "Candy Man" as he would give out candy to them.

He was also the first president of the Main Line NAACP, a scoutmaster and civic leader.

Warren was married to Emma Norman and had at least two children with her.

He passed away in 1980 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and was buried in Mount Lawn Cemetery in Pennsylvania. He was survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, and grandchildren.
