Biography

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Menton A. Chouest Jr., 72, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 1993. Interment was in the church cemetery.

He was the husband of Shirley Melancon Chouest; father of Menton III and Daniel Chouest and Loretta Williams; brother of Jacquita Geise and Dr. Thelma Chouest Berumen. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded m death by his parents, Menton and Loretta McCabe Chouest. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Rotary Club.

Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano was in charge of arrangements.
