Mary was born Mary Clapham on 11 April 1834 Thurlston, Birstall, Yorkshire & baptised Mary Clapham on 24 August 1834 Birstall, St. Peter, Yorkshire the daughter of Nicholas Clapham (roper) & Jenetta of Thurlston. [1] [2]
With brothers James (5), Richard (2) & widowed father in 1841 living with grandparents John & Mary Clapham in Birstall, Yorkshire. [3]
