Biography

Eliza's father, William B. Clark, and her mother, Eleanor Ellen Pate, were married in Breckinridge County, Kentucky on April 3, 1811.^[1]Eliza Jane was born on January 28, 1812, in Breckinridge County, Kentucky.^[2]

Eliza's father died when she was 7 years old. When she was 20 years old, she married William 'Billy' Miller, of Breckinridge, Kentucky. Eliza and Billy had four children:^[3]

2. Lewis
3. Susan
4. Jefferson

By the time of the 1880 Federal Census, the Miler farm was situated in Cloverport, Kentucky, once called 'Joe's Landing', a ferry stop, on the Ohio River.^[4]

Eliza Jane Miller passed away at 72 years of age, on June 26, 1884. Her remains were buried at the Old New Bethel Cemetery in Hardinsburg, Kentucky.^[5]
