Services To Be Held Friday Afternoon For Mrs. Higbee Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon from the Community Methodist church for Mrs. Lucy Viola Higbee who died at her home Tuesday, July 13, following a four months' illness.

The respected pioneer resident was born in Estherville, Ia. on March 31, 1870. On Nov. 28, 1888, she was married to the late Obadiah. Herman Higbee. The couple came to make their home in Chisholm in 1904.

Mrs. Higbee was active in the Eastern Star and several years ago was honored by the chapter for her many services; she was also a member of the Community Methodist church, Circle 1 and the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph W. (Gwendola) Lahym and Miss Lita Higbee, both of Chisholm; a son Vern, also of Chisholm; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The remains are lying in state at the Rupp Funeral Chapel and will be taken to the Highbee residence this afternoon. Interment will be made in the Chisholm cemetery and Rev. Ralph Hendricks will officiate at the last rites.

Minnesota Death Record: Parents are Jonas Clark and Mary Hickey.

Mrs. Higbee was preceded in death by a daughter Vera Higbee Thies in March of 1930.
