Biography

John CLARK, son of John CLARKE and Sarah BLAKE, was born in 1853 in London, Middlesex, England, United Kingdom, died on 2 December 1931 in "Roseville", Dangar's Lagoon; near Uralla, New South Wales, Australia at age 78, and was buried on 3 December 1931 in Methodist Portion New Cemetery, Uralla, New South Wales, Australia. The cause of his death was from pleurisy.

John married Anne ("Annie") SMITH, daughter of Charles SMITH and Sarah EATE, on 8 February 1877 in Armidale, Colony of New South Wales.

Annie was born on 16 February 1860 in Salisbury, Colony of New South Wales, died on 15 May 1948 in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, Australia at age 88, and was buried on 16 May 1948 in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, Australia.

    OBITUARY. - JOHN CLARK.
    Mr. John Clark, of Dangar's Lagoon, Uralla, died yesterday, at the age of 78. Mr. Clark had been ailing for some weeks, and pleurisy supervened. He was a native of London, and came to this State as a youth. A bridge carpenter, he did considerable work on the great northern railway in its construction stages, and later settled at Uralla. He had engaged in grazing pursuits for the past twenty years. Mr. Clark married Miss Anne Smith, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, formerly of Agden Green, Uralla. Mrs. Clark survives her husband, and members of the family are: Mr. T. J. Clark (Highlands, Uralla), Mr. Albert Clark (Redfern), Mrs. Hogbin (Glen Innes), Mrs. McAskill (Tamworth), Mrs. S. Faint (Uralla), Mrs. P. Luxford (Kentucky), and Miss L Clark. The burial took place this morning in the Methodist cemetery. Rev. Gordon G. Wood conducting the service. Mr. C. G. Cooper had charge of the funeral.
