Biography

Joseph Claton chaged his name to Clayton, He had three children with his first wife and eleven with his second wife. Joseph and Eliza are buried in Bloomfield, Iowa. In Feb. 1865 Joseph moved to Tazewell Co., Illinois, and in Feb. 1868 to Davis Co., Iowa, where he served as the Secretary of the Agricultural Society for three years. In 1873 and in 1875 he was elected Auditor for Davis County.
