Narrative: In 1994, living in Houston, Texas, James (Jim) Hallowell Clement, petroleum geologist, retired in 1990 after nearly forty years with the Shell Oil Company; he served in the Exploration Department and at retirement was Manager of Geological Training. Jim holds bachelor and masters degrees (1950, 1951) in Geological Engineering from Montana School of Mines, Butte.

Spouse Sophie employed as business bookkeeper; also holds positions of homemaker and grandmother (James Hallowell Clement to John Clement, 10 Sep 1994).

In May of 1995, James Hallowell Clement was posthumously awarded a distinguished alumnus award by the Montana School of Mines. His remains rest in the mausoleum at the Mountain View Cemetery, Butte (Joan Guttormsen to John Clement, 10 July 1995). ^[13]
