Calvin Clifford has English ancestors.

Calvin Clifford, son of Edward Clifford and Abigail Winslow, was born on 6 March 1772 in Hardwick, Worcester county, Province of Massachusetts Bay.

Soon after 1793 Calvin Clifford removed to Pittsford, Rutland county Vermont, bringing his parents with him. They occupied the house which had been built for them by Calvin's brother Simeon Clifford, residing there until 1812. Brothers Samuel Clifford and Edward Clifford, Jr. had already settled in Pittsford in 1788 and 1793 respectively. ^[1]

Calvin Clifford died on 31 March 1849 in DuPage, Will county, Illinois. He was buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bolingbrook, Will county, Illinois. ^[2]

Calvin Clifford left a Will, which was probated on 18 May 1849 in Will county, Illinois; Eleanor Clifford was named administratrix of the estate. ^[3]
