Elizabeth (Bett) Clifton was probably born in 1776. Bett, daughter of George and Jane Clifton, of Finstock, was baptised on 16 May 1776 in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, England.[1] [2] [3]
James Siaford [or Siford], bachelor, and Elizabeth Clifton, spinster, both of Leafield, were married by licence at the parish church of Shipton under Wychwood in Oxfordshire on 26 February 1798. The witnesses were called William Pratley and Sarah Siaford. [2] (Leafield is an Oxfordshire village which was then is the parish of Shipton under Wychwood; residents of Leafield had to be married at Shipton.)
Their children were baptised at Leafield chapel between 1799 and 1817.
Elizabeth Siford, of Leafield, died in 1839, at the reported age of 63. She was buried at Leafield on 13 April 1839. [3] [4] [5]
Bett or Elizabeth? It seems highly probable that Bett (baptism) and Elizabeth (subsequent records) are one and the same person.
No other records found for Bett, on Familysearch, Ancestry or MyHeritage 21 Jan 2023.
The question arises as to who the witness at the wedding William Pratley was and what relationship to Elizabeth.
Since her parents were described as "of Finstock" when she was baptised, and there doesn't seem to be any contradictory evidence, it seems likely she was born there. Her mother died there too.

I think these are the same person, but I would have preferred some stronger evidence.
