Mildred was born in 1901. She was the daughter of Charles V and Mary Louisa Baublitz Cockey, and was their ninth of fourteen living children.
Cockey was a prominent and common name in the Baltimore area, as evidenced by the town of Cockeysville in Baltimore County. But this branch, with Charles Vincent, Mary Louisa and children, lived a hard life. For instance, in 1900, Charles and his two oldest children - Dora (12 yrs) and Sadie (10 yrs) worked in a cotton mill.
She married James Arthur Seal in early 1919. They had four children (Dorothy Vera, Edith Louise, James Arthur, Jr., and William Henry). James worked as a chauffer and Mildred worked in a laundry.
She passed away on the 8th of July in 1937 when her children were 17, 15, 14, and 11.
