Children: (1) Cecil, born Aug. 1, 1909 (2) Orval, born Jan. 23, 1911 (3) Herschel, born Dec. 13, 1913 (4) Loren Francis, born May 25, 1915 (5) Donald David, born Sept. 10, 1918; died Sept. 8, 1940. (6) Gerald Allen, born Sept. 16, 1919 (7) Lueile Catherine, born May 20, 1922

Married: (Second) William S. Cole (July 5, 1893) on Sept, 14. 1922, at Terry, Mont. He was born at Hudson, S. Dak., and was raised in an orphan asylum from the age of two ; has no record of his parents.

Children: (1) Patrick, born March 21, 1924 (2) Norma, born March 19, 1926; died April 29, 1926


In 1939. Bessie C. writes of the unmarried members of her interesting family as follows: "Herschel is a surveyor for the State Highway Dept. and is at Billings. Loren Francis works with Colorado Life Ins. Co., and is located at Denver, Colo. Donald David is with Chicago, Mil. & St. Paul R. R. Co., Store Dept.. in Miles City, Mont. Gerald Allen with the Beacon Oil Co., Miles Cty Mont. Lucy Catherine at home and is a senior in Custer High School. PatCole is at home and a sophomore in Custer High School. In November, 1947, she writes of the unmarriedones: "Donald was fatally injured while performing his duty as a telegraph operator for the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul R. R, Co., at Vanada. Mont., Sept. 8, 1940, two days before his 22nd birthday. A bridge timber slipped from the car, knocking him down, when he was handing up orders. Patrick Cole was in Alaska three years from Dec. 24, 1943, to Dec. 8, 1946, with C. A. and then to Honolulu. He is now with C. A. A. on Wake Island."[7]
