Cole-28912 and Cole-22972 appear to represent the same person because: John Cole is listed in the Franklin Twp., OH enumeration of the 1850 census. The family tree at https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/28KM-THQ also listed him as married to Mary Land.
