Seward was born in 1904. He was the son of Eugene Coleman and Emma Weeks. He married Helen Cox and the two began their married life together in Keeline, Wyoming where he owned a trucking company. They moved to Harmony, South Dakota where they lived until moving to Oregon. They had a good life together even though they were never blessed with children. Helen died in March of 1991 and Seward followed three months later.
