Martha Culver, daughter of Ephraim Culver (1683-1728) and Martha (Hibbard) Culver (1684-1765), was born 19 Jun 1711 at Lebanon, New London, Connecticut; ^[1][2] she was married as the second wife of John Beebe on 24 Nov 1730 at Litchfield, Litchfield, Connecticut; she died 4 Sep 1777 (or some sources say 27 Jan 1809) at Canaan, Litchfield, Connecticut, and she was buried in the Grassy Hill Cemetery at Falls Village, Litchfield, Connecticut. ^[3]

1. ) History of New Milford; Page 47. Samuel Beebe and Hannah Beebe, ye wife of Samuel Beebe, recommended from Danbury, were charter members of the "First Church of Christ" of New Milford established 21 Nov 1716.
2. ) History of New Milford; Page 64. Samuel Beebe settled in New Milford in 1712, but was not a land-holder. He came from Danbury, took an active part in the town affairs and offices, and removed to Litchfield, as one of the first settlers of that town. He took with him letters of commendation form the New Milford church upon the settlement of the Rev. Timothy Collins, the first pastor of that town. His grand-daughter Rebecca became the wife of Abel Hine of New Milford, in 1763, and as such constituted a prominent part of one of the prominent families of the town.

He moved from Litchfield to Canaan in 1737 where he was town proprietor and also owned land in Stockbridge, Berkshire, MA. He was a soldier in the French and Indian War and in 1758 and 1764 was a representative from Canaan to the CT legislature. He married, first, Elizabeth Fox, circa 1727/8. Elizabeth, daughter of Daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bailey) Fox, was born 24 Nov 1708 at Groton, New London, Connecticut, and she died about 1729. He married, second, Martha Culver, daughter of Ephraim and Martha (Hibbard) Culver, on 24 Nov 1730 at Litchfield, Litchfield, Connecticut,8.
