Notes

Prior to removal to the west, Aquila Coney had gotten land in Laurens Co. GA which he sold on 4/11/1818 to William Coney (Laurens Deed Bk. F, p. 82) William Coney sold this same piece of land on 10/8/1818 to William Albritton (Deed Bk. F, p. 249). Aquila and William were probably brothers.

Jeremiah and Aquilla were taxpayers in Montgomery Co. GA in 1805-06. The 1805 and 1806 tax digests for Montgomery County are on microfilm reel 61-30 at the Georgia Department of Archives and History and are published in full in Ruth Blair, Some Early Tax Digests of Georgia (1926), including acreage, names of original land grantees, and land evaluations. The lists below include the number of slaves owned and for the 1805 tax digest, land owned in other countries.
