Stephen D. Conger, one of the pioneer families of Callaway Co. Mo. Married Lucy Jane Gordon, 8 Mar 1835, had 10 children. Son John G. Conger married Jane Francis Herring and was killed fighting for the Confederacy in the Civil War. Daughter Eliza R. Conger married James E. Herring, brother to Jane Francis.
