She was aged 7 b OH in the household of Jacob Coon age 72 b PA and Elizabeth Coon age 38 b Ohio, when she was enumerated in the 1850 Census for McLean County, Illinois. Others in the house were Jacob C Coon age 20 b OH, Ros An Coon age 18 b OH, Manda J Coon age 15 b OH, Andrew J Coon age 12 b OH George W Coon age 10 b OH and Ester F Coon age 2 b OH.[1]
At age 17 she was living in Mercer County, Missouri with Jacob Coon age 82, Elizabeth Coon age 48 b OH, E T Coon (female) age 12 b OH and George Coon age 19 b OH.[2]
Marriage: her first husband was Wesley Wilkerson, according to Kutschbach Family Tree on GenCircles.
In 1870 she had children aged 4 (Hadley), 2 (Nancy) and infant (John Lindsey); apparently she had been married to Robert M. Kirk about 4 years. They were living in Washington County, Mercer, Missouri.[3]
In 1880 the children were Headley age 13, Nancy E age 12, John L Kirk age 10, Flaurence D Kirk age 8, James A Kirk age 5 and Edith Kirk infant.[4]
In 1900 Roxy was living with Robert and children Dossy and James A. Kirk.[5]
Robert and Roxy were living with son James in 1910.[6]
Mercer County Pioneer Traces vol. 2 p. 505 on family of Thomas Riley Kirk:
Robert M. (1840-1919) was married to Roxie Coon (1843-1924) who was born in Madison Co., OH., to Jacob Coon). They had eight children. They are buried in the Coon Cemetery, Mercer Co., MO.
Roxie is buried in the Coon Cemetery in Mercer County, Missouri.[7]
