Thomas Corcoran was born on July 09, 1843 in Dillonstown Cross, County Louth, Ireland. His parents were John Corcoran and Alice Reilly. He was baptised in Togher parish on 9 July 1843.[1][2]
Thomas Corcoran (farmer), married Bridget Duff on February 10, 1872 at the Roman Catholic Chapel[3] of Louth. Thomas' father was John Corcoran, and Bridget's father was Bernard Duff. Witnesses were another Thos. Corcoran and the bride's sister Catherine M. Duff.[4][5][6][7]
In 1901, Thomas (56, farmer) was living in Dillonstown, Drumcar, Louth, Ireland, with his wife Brigid (53).[13] Their children, Patrick (25, farmer's son), Bernard (24, carpenter), Mary (22, housework), Thomas (20, carpenter), Peter (16, monitor), and Elizabeth (11, scholar), were also living in their home.
Thomas Corcoran (66) was living in Dillonstown, Drumcar, Louth, Ireland, in 1911, with his wife, Bridget. [14] Also living in the home with them were his children, Patrick (35), Rose (28), and Elizabeth (21); and a 30-year-old farm servant, John Lumley.
Thomas Corcoran died 19 Nov 1920 in Louth, County Louth, His death record states he was 77 years old. [15][16][17]
His obituary appeared in the Drogheda Independent on Saturday 27 November 1920 [18] and stated
MR. THOMAS CORCORAN, DILLONSTOWN, DUNLEER.
The death occurred on Friday last at his residence, Dillonstown, of Mr. Thomas Corcoran,. Deceased, who lived to a ripe old age, was one of the best-known and one of the most popular men in the parish. He was a successful farmer, and took a keen interest in national affairs. Much sympathy is manifested to his widow,, family and friends.--R.I.P.
