Biography

Marguerite Cormier was born on 22 Oct 1832 and baptized in Barachois on 24 Oct 1832. ^[1] She is the daughter of Placide Cormier and Marie LeBlanc.

In the 1851 census Margaret, age 19, was in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick with her parents, Placide and Mary, and her siblings.^[2]

Marguerite married Jean Chrysostome Boudreau on 2 Oct 1854 in Barachois.^[3][4][5] They were both noted as being from the parish of Shediac. Witnesses were Edward Cormier (her brother) and Marie Boudreau (his sister).

In the 1861 census Margret, age 28, was in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick with her parents and her daughter Domitille.^[6]

Marguerite married Hyppolite Bourque on 31 Jan 1865 in Barachois.^[7][8][9] Marguerite was noted as being a widow, and they were both from the parish of Barachois. A dispensation was granted for a third degree of affinity (Hyppolite was the second cousin of her first husband, view relationship). Witnesses were Claude Cormier (her brother) and Philomene Landry.

In the 1901 census Marguerite, age 68, was the wife of Hipolite Bourque in Botsford, Westmorland, New Brunswick.^[10] Her date of birth was given as Oct 1832.

In the 1911 census Marguerite, age 78, was listed with her husband Hypolite S Bourque as the grandmother of Prime T Leger in Botsford Parish, Westmorland, New Brunswick.^[11] Her date of birth was given as Oct 1832.

She died on 5 Oct 1927 in Shediac, aged 94.^[12]

Research Notes

Marguerite's parents were not named in her first marriage record, but her daughter Domitille Boudreau was listed with Marguerite and her parents in the 1861 census.
