Biography

Rachel Cornett was the daughter of Revolutionary War soldier William Cornett and his second wife, Mary (Everage) Cornett.^[1][2]

Rachel was born in Perry County, Kentucky on 10 February 1807. She married John A. Caudill on 20 May 1824.^[3]

John was born on 1 January 1798 in North Carolina, son of Stephen Caudill (born 1763, Lunenburg County, Virginia) and Sarah Adams. Stephen and Sarah married in 1792 in Wilkes County, North Carolina.^[3] John's father was also a Revolutionary War soldier,^[4] as was Sarah's.^[3]

John and Rachel had at least one child: Sarah Caudell, born in Perry County on 23 October 1834. She married Joseph Sirah Fairchild in 1849.^[3]

John Caudill died on 10 May 1873 in Letcher County (previously Perry County). Rachel (Cornett) Caudill died in Letcher County on 15 April 1887.
