Solomon was born about 1791. He is the son of Francis Cossart and Margaret DeGroft.

1.2.6.9.3.1.1 SOLOMON CASSAT

Solomon Cassat, of Gettysburg, Hanover and Elsewhere in Pennsylvania. Said to have been son of Francis (138) and Margaret above.
CHILD:
( ) a. David Cassat, of Gettysburg, Penna., aged about 70 years in 1920; a respectable but uneducated man, stated to Alfred R. Justice, genealogist that he could remember that his father, Solomon Cassat, mention that he was a son of Francis and Margaret (de Graff) Cassat.

“David Cassat to Samuel G. Cook et al for tract of land situate in Gettysburg Borough, Adams County, Pa., dated September 28, 1877 and recorded in Deed Book FF at page 514.
