Biography

A mysterious disappearance is reported of a youth named Wolfram Cottingham, aged 17 years. He was connected with the Auckland Central Mission, and left his homo last Friday night in order to attend a United Endeavour meeting, and since then has not been heard of. [1] He turned up in Mercer a few days later [2]

Poverty Bay Herald 10 December 1913 page 2 [3]
Yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Church, the Rev. J. A. Lochpre united in the bonds of holy wedlock, Mr Wolfram Cottingham to Miss Sophia Johanson, eldest daughter of Mr P. Johanson.
There was a large congregation, chiefly ladies. The bride waa beautifully attired in a very handsome dress of Indian hand-embroidered silk, also wearing the orthodox veil and; blossoms. All her six sisters attended as bridesmaids and, altogther, the effect was striking and helped to make a very pretty wedding group. Misses Mary and Emily Johanson wore pretty dresses of shantung, trimmed with all-over lace. Large black lace hats trimmed with ribbon completed their attire. Of the other four little maids two were dressed in blue voile, and two in pink voile. All carried bouquets to match. Mr Cottingham was supported by Mr Allen Gardiner as best man, and Mr Alf Foster as groomsman. Afternoon tea was served to the guests by Mrs Johanson, at their residence, Palmerston road. The usual toasts were honored, and the numerous wedding presents were viewed. A trip to Auckland had been contemplated, but the strike proved an obstacle.
