DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:
I believe Thomas Anthony to be the son of Peter Counsel ( b-1806 ? Died 1866) andAnne Malone, date of marriage 15/11/1840. Peter was the son of Lawrence Counsel 1770-1834 and Mary Tierney (b-1790 ?) both Peter and Mary are buried in Clonkeen, Mountrush Co. Louth Ireland. Lawrence’s parents are possibly Thadeus Counsel and Bridget McCabe.
Hi Oliver, Thank you for the contact. I'm sure you are correct. I don't have all my information on here as yet. I also have trees on Ancestry, Family Search and My Heritage, and I have been concentrating most of my searches on my Nielsen family and collaborating with cousins from that side as well. I do know we are from Louth, Ireland. My aunt has been doing family tree for about 30 years, and she still does it the old fashioned way. Are you in Australia? I would love to keep in touch if possible.
They are in my tree.
