When Rosanah Ransom Covey was born on April 2, 1848, in Bedford County, Tennessee, her father, John Nap Covey, was 33, and her mother, Martha Holmes Farrar, was 26. She had five brothers and three sisters. She married James C Wilson and had several children. She died on January 3, 1910, in Delaware County, Oklahoma, at the age of 61, and was buried Olympus Cemetery Grove, Delaware County, Oklahoma, USA.
