Research Notes

According to his World War I draft registration, he was short with a medium build, grey eyes and brown hair. He had a slight hernia.

From "We Lived a Life and Then Some," by Charlie Angus, Brit Griffin, p. 14,

I saw Cobalt March 17, 1906 and it was forty below. I boarded at a French boarding house. The lady gave us sowbelly and potatoes swimming in grease, doughy bread and sewage water from Cobalt Lake. Some got typhoid but I used a local intestinal antiseptic and changed houses to the Stitt House in Haileybury, Got good grub there and no lice and good treatment, but lost my patent leathers and saw them in a local saloon, the man who as wearing them was trying to push the saloon over. He had barrel fever from drinking squirrel whiskey
- Frank R. Cowdery, Niles, Ohio, 1953
[Frank is describing the mining town of Cobalt, Ontario.]

He applied for his SSN in Feb. 1944.

Allegedly, he died in 1953.
