William Hardin or Hadden Cox, son of Thomas Cox and Mary "Polly" (Ellison) Cox, was born on 10 June 1830 at Pendleton District, South Carolina.[1] He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 27 July 1850 inthe home of his parents at Anderson County, South Carolina.[2]
