Biography

James Cox 6 May 1781 Hackney, son of Joseph and Sarah. Died 22 Oct 1864 Islington, married Mary Copelin or Collison on 4 Dec 1808 and secondly Susan Eveshed 1791 on 15 Aug 1820. Labourer of Greenman’s Lane in 1843. Baptisms of children at St Mary Islington in PR.

In 1841 James Cox was a brickmaker aged 55 living in the railway company cottages, Widford, Essex with Susan 35, Elizabeth 15, Henrietta 5 and four unnamed children aged 15, 11, 7 and 2. James was born in Middlesex and the others in Essex.

In 1851 James 68 was a labourer born in Hackney and living at Norfolk Court, Islington with Susan 52 from Vange, Essex, William 21, Henry 19, both born at Geags, Essex, Emma 16 and Jane 7, both born at Islington.

In 1871 Susannah widow 73 born at Fabbing? Essex, was living with her daughter Jane Gardener in Islington.

In 1881 Susanna Cox 80 born at Vange was living with her daughter Elizabeth Harris and family at 4 Allen Street London.
