Biography

William born 21 October 1830 son of James Cox and Susan. William married Charlotte Elizabeth Dean on 3 July 1854 at West Hackney [m.cert] and they emigrated with their siblings Henry and Sarah on Corramandel in 1855. William was a salesman in 1854 and a carter, living in Chapel Street, Norwood from 1864 –79. William was a carter, living in Chapel Street, Norwood from 1864 to 2 July 1882 when he died. “On the 2nd July 1882, at his residence, Chapel street, Norwood, William the beloved husband of C E Cox, and third son of the late James Cox, New Norfolk Place, Islington, England, aged 54. Arrived ship Coromandel in year 1855.” [The South Australian Advertiser, 19 July 1882] William passed away in 1882 and is buried in the Payneham Cemetery.
