Note: SURNAME SPELLING Different ways the surname of Crannis was spelled on different documents has made it difficult to initially find them, and the handwriting on some documents didn't help. Re the Census, I could only find some on ancestry.com.au. I am assuming maybe different transcribers read the surname differently and the handwriting didn't help. In the 1851 Census the surname was spelt Cranniss, then in later years the spelling is Crannis. - Heneker-11 (5 Nov 2023) Note: no matter how much I looked and tried to be creative, I couldn't find the 1871 and 1881 census on familysearch.org. I'm sure they are there but having found some of the others under totally different spelling to the name Crannis, I had to give up and use ancestry.com.au records and sources. Heneker-11 (5 Nov 2023)
